6 Places to Hit The Next Time You Travel to the 'Queen City': Charlotte, NC
Updated: Oct 19, 2019

Yes, you read the title correctly; SIX.
If you follow me on Instagram you saw some of my videos of the mouth-watering plates I enjoyed during my time in Charlotte for #APodConnection ( Instagram | Twitter ).
I had so much good food in Charlotte; I couldn't keep all the deets to myself!
1. Amélie's French Bakery & Cafe | Uptown

This bakery has locations throughout the city of Charlotte as well as a location in Rock Hill, SC and Atlanta, GA.
Pictured below: salted caramel brownie, assorted mini tarts, and a pistachio macaroon.

2. Cuzzo's Cuisine

This tasty meal was completely unexpected. I wanted seafood so we hit up our trusted friend #Google and searched "seafood near me"; Cuzzo's was one of the first places to pop up.
I had fried shrimp with lobster macaroni and cheese. Cuzzo's also has a line of juices that they make in-house (I had the lemonade), AND they have a food truck.

3. Barcelona Wine Bar

My friend and I shared the Paella Mariscos (shrimp, mussels, clams, squid, saffron rice).
I enjoyed the wine flight of three tastes: BarCava, la cigarera, and el bandarra vermut
Locations in: Philadelphia *inserts emoji eyes*, Denver, Raleigh, Nashville, and Reston, VA as well as several locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Georgia and two locations in Washington D.C.
4. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams | Camden Road

Jeni's is within very close proximity to Barcelona Wine Bar and Superica (mentioned next in this article) in Charlotte.
I had a half-scoop of brambleberry crisp (contains dairy) along with a half scoop of roasted peanut butter & strawberry jam (dairy free). My friend also had a half-scoop of the brambleberry with a second half-scoop of the Texas sheet cake (dairy free). The waffle cone they make at Jeni's tastes as good as it smells!
Jeni's has multiple locations in the following cities: Columbus, Cleveland, Chicago, Charleston, Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Washington D.C.
5. Superica | Worthington Ave

This steak and eggs was the best meal I had during my time in Charlotte.
If you keep up with my foodie posts on KailahIsKreative you see that in general I tend to blog about healthier meals, and lately I've been on a vegan kick. But on Sunday October 6th I said to hell with all that, let me get the steak (medium well) and eggs. Probably one of the best decisions I've made in 2019.
The venue is spacious and almost has a brewery feel. Superica's menu is Tex Mex; the steak and eggs is offered on their brunch menu. Superica also has locations in Atlanta, Houston, and Nashville
6. The EpiCentre

The Epicentre is nestled in uptown Charlotte (their “downtown” or “center city”), and serves as a hub of restaurants and entertainment **bars/nightclub/lounges, including two rooftop bar, Bowlero (bowling alley), and Studio Movie Grill (my friends and I went there to see The Joker)**.
I went to Rooftop 210 (one of the rooftop bars) on a Saturday; there was no cover, shots were reasonably priced, the dress code was chill, and most importantly we had FUN!
The Epicentre has plenty of options for nightlife and food, I'd definitely say this is a must visit.
7. Food Truck Friday's **an honorable mention**
I'm not gonna lie, I'm salty I didn't get to experience this. Unfortunately I can't speak firsthand about the options or what's featured. What I CAN say is that I heard all great things about this weekly food truck rally; I plan on making this a part of my itinerary next time I visit Charlotte.
